This track was recorded live over 4th Of July weekend 2003, it features Scott Jones on vocals despite having been written by Mike Gross. Scotts vocals are exclusive to the original “Complete” version of the album, as he left the band shortly after the recording. The remaining Brobecks removed his vocals and had Mike Gross record a new take for the track so it could be used on the 7 track version of the album released to MP3.com.

At the time the track was called “The Cowboy Song” on The Brobecks site, but it would later be shortened to Cowboy Song. Who cares?

I hide behind these clothes, no one knows at all (x2)
I hide behind my girlfriend, she’s fly, she’s fly (x2)
It used to be okay but it’s getting worse (x2)
It used to be okay
I’m tired of this scene, and all the ladies, and all the honeys (x2)
But I’m a Cowboy, I’m a Cowboy, I’m a Cowboy man
It used to be okay but it’s getting worse (x2)
It used to be okay
I hide behind these clothes, no one knows at all
I hide behind these clothes, no one knows that I’m a Cowboy
I’m a Cowboy, I’m a Cowboy
I’m a Cowboy man (x5)
