This track was recorded live over 4th of July weekend 2003, it features Scott Jones on vocals despite being written by Mike Gross.

Scotts vocal take here is exclusive to the “Complete” version of the album as he left the band shortly after participating in the recording, Mike Gross recorded a new vocal take for the released version of the album.

At the time the track was called “The Cowboy Song” on The Brobecks site, but it would later be shortened to Cowboy Song. Who cares?

I hide behind these clothes, no one knows at all (x2)
I hide behind my girlfriend, she’s fly, she’s fly (x2)
It used to be okay but it’s getting worse (x2)
It used to be okay
I’m tired of this scene, and all the ladies, and all the honeys (x2)
But I’m a Cowboy, I’m a Cowboy, I’m a Cowboy man
It used to be okay but it’s getting worse (x2)
It used to be okay
I hide behind these clothes, no one knows at all
I hide behind these clothes, no one knows that I’m a Cowboy
I’m a Cowboy, I’m a Cowboy
I’m a Cowboy man (x5)
