This song was recorded for The Brobecks album Happiest Nuclear Winter, the band referred to it as Everyone’s a Jerk But Me during the recording of the album but on release would shorten the title.


According to the albums recording log work began on the track on November 2nd 2004 when Mike & Matt recorded parts for it, On November 9th Dallon recorded his part and on November 11th Vocals were completed.
