This recording was originally released on Understanding The Brobecks Step 1: (EP) to give fans something to listen to while The Brobecks finished recording their first album. The track originates from when the band was still known as 1000 West, originally being titled ‘School Bell’ before later being retitled ‘Monday Morning’. The track would be retitled again when Dallon reworked it towards the end of The Brobecks active years, calling it ‘Far Too Young To Die’.

It was a lie, how could I’ve known
A laughing stock, all over town
Where do I stand if not for the ground?
We’ll call it a night, but don’t go to bed
We’ll think about how you’re happy instead
Of being apart, the way it should be
No I never really though that it’d come to this
But the stream don’t go to you anymore
And everybody’s pushing the man downstairs, downstairs
And here we are now, stuck in the verse
I’d sing this to you but I don’t got the words
I think I like you, do you like me too?
We’ll call it a night, but don’t go to bed
We’ll think about how you’re happy instead
Of being apart, the way it should be
No I never really though that it’d come to this
But the stream don’t go to you anymore
And everybody’s pushing the man downstairs, downstairs
You never cared (x2)
