History

This is a catch all for any miscellaneous odds and ends that have surfaced from mid 2004 to early 2005, sources vary as does whether any of these tracks mean anything to you.

Trivia

The premixes of both Better Than Me and You Stole My Head were released to the bands website on October 8th, 2004 to give fans a look at early mixes from the album. These are among the only recordings publicly shared by the band that have remained lost over the years as they were not archived and even the band members seem to have a hard time finding them.

The track Boring Test 1 seems to be an early test of Bryan Szymanski’s parts for Boring, Robot Tests Alpha is an early mix of some parts of She’s a Robot that Matt Glass was testing adding some…robotic…ish…sounds to. The other band members apparently didn’t see the vision and so they didn’t go with the idea. The Sun Orchestra is an isolated backing orchestral track from And Shoot The Sun.

Globular is an early version of what would later become A Letter, it features Matt Glass reading from an encyclopedia. A Letter (Demo) is a much further along version of the song.

File Code (Scrapped Version) is a version of the track the band decided to abandon as they thought it was too slow.

My Poor Brain is a track the band recorded for a Death By Salt compilation, it never wound up on it and lived forever as a B-Side before Mike & Matt picked it back up for their project Let’s Become Actors.

Ollie (Edit) is a shortened version of Ollie off the album, with the instrumental breakdown being much more toned down. It’s possible this is an early mix or something but given the files title I think they just wanted a shorter version for something.

One Minute Of Fun +1/2/3 is the original extended instrumental that Matt turned into the spoken word song on the album, it’s had a few different names over the years so I just use them all.

Song Test 3 is a very fun test by Bryan Szymanski that the band sadly never used, beyond chopping it up and mangling it on the end of Ollie.
