History
During April of 2022 Mike dug up some old tracks he had been demoing with The Brobecks around 2006, these include a few demos for tracks from Goodnight, and Have a Pleasant Tomorrow likely from late 2005 as well as 2 unheard tracks Mike demoed during his time with the band likely sometime in 2006, all of which including exclusively guitar, drums and vocals with the exception of I’ll Break Your Arm that lacks vocals. It was given out for free with any purchase of Whisperhawk merch around the time it was announced, and most of the the tracks from this release would later be made available in Mikes publicly available demo collection.
Credits for who drummed these are assumed to be Nate Leslie, though it could have been Matt Glass on some or perhaps Mike himself if he was feeling adventurous.
Trivia
The track Goodnight Sara Jane is the only one that was touched-up on this release, with Mike remixing the guitar and vocals. However, a year earlier, the untouched version appeared on B-Sides & Demos (2004-2006), a collection of remastered Brobecks demos. The remastered collection features the original demo, while this original demo collection includes the touched-up version. Nothing ever makes sense you know.
The track Computer Age may have also been demoed by Mikes indie rock band The Statuettes at one point, he mentions it in the cassette “Whisperhawk’s Journey Through The Past”, however no Statuettes recording of the track has ever surfaced.
